A 37-year-old Goleta resident was arrested yesterday for possessing cocaine for sale. Armando Carlos Trejo had been under investigation by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit for two months.
At around 6 a.m., Narcotics Detectives, with the assistance of Goleta Patrol Deputies, pulled Trejo over in the area of Calle Real and North Kellogg Avenue. After he was detained, a search warrant was served at his residence on Valdez Avenue in Goleta.
During a search of the residence, Detectives located approximately 2.5 ounces of cocaine with a street value of more than $7,000. Money consistent with drug sales was seized along with a digital scale and packaging materials.
Based on the amount of narcotics located and the way they were packaged, Trejo was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale.
Trejo was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail and his bail is set at $30,000.
