Arroyo Grande Daycare Center Closes Its Doors After License Is Revoked

Kids-ClubThe Kid’s Club, an Arroyo Grande day care center that unexpectedly closed its doors last weekend, left some parents wondering what happened.

According to The Tribune, the center received notice from the Department of Social Services the day before.  That notice stated that the license for the day care was being revoked following numerous allegations of health and safety violations.

But, co-owners Nathan Belch and his wife say the sudden closure was caused, in part, by skyrocketing costs, including a hefty payroll tax increase that had put them behind in their rent.  And they are still deciding if they want to appeal.

The closure has left a number of parents struggling to find suitable daycare on short notice.
