Santa Barbara Veterinarian Killed in Paragliding Accident

A Santa Barbara veterinarian has been killed in a paragliding accident Sunday. Dr. Ron Faero was flying tandem with his daughter near La Cumbre Peak. According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s office, the 60-year-old Faero fall about a thousand feet ending up in a canyon. His 16-year-old daughter suffered minor injuries.

Two Arrested on Suspicion of Robbery

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of robbery in Santa Maria. Twenty-year-old Erin Lucas and 22-year-old Tevin Morris were booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for attempting to rob a man of his personal belongings at a motel on South Nicholson Avenue.  Lucas and Morris now face charges of robbery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intimidating a victim. Morro Bay Library Reopens

A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the reopening of a newly-remodeled Morro Bay library on Sunday. Both the temporary and permanent library locations were closed for three weeks in preparation for the grand opening. The new library features 30 percent more open space, 30 percent more shelf space, an expanded reading room, and a new program room. It officially opens tomorrow.
