Active Shooter Training

Today from 12:30 to 3:30 the San Luis Obispo Police and Fire Department will be conducting a joint active shooter training with San Luis Obispo High School teachers and staff.  The training will involve an active shooter scenario for school staff and is intended to help better prepare all the involved parties for these types of incidents.

Women’s Shelter Program Receives Grant

On June 24th the Women's Shelter Program of San Luis Obispo County was awarded a $215,000 two-year grant from the Blue Shield of California Foundation to promote domestic violence and healthcare safety net partnerships that address and prevent domestic violence through integrated models of service and system-level improvements. This grant was one of only two awarded in the entire state of California during the most recent funding cycle.

Woman Kicked by Giraffe Plans on Fighting Ticket

Asian Citrus Psyllid Triggers Infest Investigation

The detection of an adult Asian Citrus Psyllid in an insect trap in a residential neighborhood in Cayucos has prompted a high density trapping delimitation survey of the surrounding area to determine if an infestation exists.

Fall Semester Starts at Cuesta College

Police Prepare for Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend is coming up. For many Americans, that means an extra day off, backyard and beach barbecues, visiting friends and family, and the unofficial end of the summer season. Unfortunately, it also means a sharp increase in drunk-driving-related fatalities. Starting August 15 and continuing through September 1, local police, sheriff and the CHP will be aggressively targeting drunk and drugged drivers as part of a nationwide effort to end impaired driving and save lives. Counterfeit Bills Being Passed Off

On 08-14-2014 Officers of the Morro Bay Police Department contacted Alfred Ayala in the 700 block of Quintana Rd. in regards to a report that he attempted to pass Counterfeit $100 bills at a local business. Arroyo Grande Man Arrested For Alleged Violence at Deltopia

An Arroyo Grande man is in hot water with the law. New Homeless Service Center
