Cattle Drive to Kick-Off the Mid State Fair

As in years past, a cattle drive will kick-off the 2014 California Mid State Fair. Traffic will be congested for approximately 1.5 hours, between 10AM and 11:30AM on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, as the cattle make their way through Paso Robles.

Man Arrested for Allegedly Pepper Spraying People

Monday, the Atascadero Police Department received a report of two people being assaulted with a caustic chemical on the Curbaril Rd-US 101 over pass. The chemical was determined to be pepper spray. The victims were contacted and provided a description of the suspect vehicle that had fled the area. DUI Crackdown Resulted in Arrests

The Independence Day Weekend Anti DUI crackdown is reporting DUI arrests from local routine traffic enforcement and special Avoid the 14 DUI deployments in San Luis Obispo County. From 12:01 AM Thursday July 3, 2014 through Midnight Sunday 6, 2014 officers representing 8 county law enforcement agencies have arrested 28 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  This number is down in comparison to the 44 individuals arrested last year. The number of DUI injury collisions also went down to 1 from 2 in 2013. Law enforcement officials will be conducting more Avoid Anti-DUI efforts throughout the county and region during the 18 day Summer Campaign in August ending Labor Day weekend.

Abandoned Panga Boat Found

On 7-9-14, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Deputies discovered an abandoned panga boat on San Simeon State Beach. No narcotics were discovered in the boat. No one is in custody. The boat is estimated to be 30-35 feet long with three outboard motors. The boat has been towed from the scene. The Sheriff's Office will take possession of the boat. The investigation into this incident is continuing.

Barricaded Suspect Identified

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is releasing the identity of the subject who had barricaded himself inside a home in Nipomo on 7-9-14. The suspect is identified as 28-year-old Mark Anthony Silva, Jr. of Santa Maria. Silva is believed to have been involved in a carjacking that occurred in Santa Maria. Deputies pursued Silva to Nipomo where he crashed the vehicle into a fence at the intersection of Juniper and Mary in Nipomo. Silva ran from the car into an occupied home Read More »

Standoff Ends Peacefully

On 7-9-14 at approximately 5:30 AM, the subject who had barricaded himself inside a home in Nipomo gave himself up without incident. The subject is believed to have been involved in a carjacking that occurred earlier in Santa Maria. Deputies pursued the subject to Nipomo. The subject crashed the vehicle into a fence at the intersection of Juniper and Mary in Nipomo. The suspect ran from the car into an occupied home on Encino Lane. Four People Hospitalized After Car Crash

Four people were sent to the hospital following a three-vehicle car crash that occurred yesterday morning just after nine. Twenty-four-year-old Elizabeth Turner from Salinas was driving her Volkswagon Jetta on Highway 46 East and trying to pass when she hit a Ford Escape head-on before crashing into a semi-truck.  The driver of the Escape suffered major injuries. Man Who Threatened To Blow Up His Residence Was Taken Into Custody

Traffic Collision in Paso Robles

On Monday, July 7, at about. 1:20 PM, the Paso Robles Police Department and Department of Emergency Services responded to a multi-vehicle injury traffic collision at the intersection of Highway 46 East and Golden Hill Road.
