Settlement Agreement Has Been Reached to Eliminate Billboards

Hearst Castle Tries to Cut Water Consumption by Closing Restrooms


  Hearst Castle, in an effort to cut water consumption because of the drought, are closing their restrooms July 7. Thirty eight portable toilets will be installed at the Visitor Center, along with six hand sanitizer stations. State Parks officials say the closure of the restrooms is expected to reduce water consumption by 40-50%.

  On June 21 Stephanie Brummond was reported to the Atascadero Police Department as missing. On June 19 Brummond was released from County Mental Health. Brummond is prescribed medication, but has refused to take them in the past.
