Additional Charges Filed Against Sword Wielding Man


Yesterday, the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office filed an additional 11 charges against 36-year-old Charles Haig Guenther.   The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office arrested Guenther on Tuesday for a domestic violence incident in Los Osos. A local businessman accused of securities fraud and embezzlement is back in San Luis Obispo County. Man Arrested After Allegedly Attacking Roommate With Knife


Yesterday the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office received a call of an assault in the 1400 block of Gateway Drive in Heritage Ranch. When deputies arrived, they found the victim, 55-year-old Robert Criste Curran Jr. with a knife injury to the neck. He was transported to a local hospital.  He is expected to survive. A young San Luis Obispo resident died Tuesday in Utah.  19-year-old Christine Allen fell off a rock cliff in Kane Creek, about five hours southeast of Salt Lake City. VAFB Fire Contained


Firefighters contained the brush fire that broke-out at Vandenberg Air Force Base within two hours after it ignited yesterday afternoon. VAFB fire officials say it burned between seven and 10 acres about a half-mile north of San Antonio Road West. A section of Highway 1 was shut down in the area while crews contained the fire.
