Vandenberg Airman Missing After Diving Trip In Florida


A Vandenberg Air Force Base airman is missing after disappearing while scuba diving in Florida. Maj. Jeffery Vincent was last seen on Sunday.  He was on leave in Florida diving near Biscayne. The U.S Coast Guard, the Miami-Dade Police Department, and Florida Fish and Conservation Commission are searching for Vincent. Vincent is a reservist from the 9th Space Operations Squadron. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s office has identified the young woman’s body found in the ocean yesterday morning in Santa Barbara as a Cal Poly student. Vandenberg Missile Test Delayed Over North Korea Tensions


Rising tensions with North Korea are to blame for the delay of a routine test of an intercontinental ballistic missile (IBM). Pentagon brass are delaying tomorrow’s routine test of an IBM at Vandenberg Air Force base in Santa Barbara County. SLO Marathon Draws Thousands Of Participants


Thousands of people ran this weekend in the San Luis Obispo Marathon. The Half Marathon and Full Marathon races were held yesterday. The race started at SLO High and ended at the Madonna Inn.  The course took runners through downtown and the Edna Valley. Event organizers say about 6,500 runners participated in the event. Barefoot Ambassador Donates Shoes


The SLO Ambassador helped people in need every mile he ran in the San Luis Obispo Marathon. Bentley Murdock ran the entire 26.2 mile marathon barefoot yesterday. He’s donating a pair of shoes to someone in need for every mile he ran barefoot as part of the ShareSLO Campaign.  So, he will be donating 27 pairs of shoes. Read More »

Shumey Sentenced For Murdering His Mother


Christopher Shumey, the San Luis Obispo man convicted of murdering his mother in 2011, has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison.  Shumey shot and killed his mother, Karen Shumey, a teacher at Vandenberg Middle School.   In February, Shumey was found guilty of second-degree murder and guilty of assault on a peace officer.  A jury also found ... Alleged Coke Dealer Arrested In Goleta

Names Released Of Victims In Fatal Grover Beach Car Crash


The names of the two dead victims of the Grover Beach car crash Tuesday night have been released. Grover Beach police identified the driver as 49-year-old Raymond Cano and the passenger as his wife, 46-year-old Kimberly Cano. Police say they were most recently residents of Arroyo Grande. Police Continue To Investigate Man Arrested Outside Bank With Loaded Guns


The circumstances surrounding one man’s arrest are being investigated after being declared by police as a public safety concern.
