Yesterday at approximately 8:35am, two 10-year old students reported to police that a man exposed himself to them while they were walking to school. Sale of E-Cigarette Banned in SLO

The San Luis Obispo City Council last night voted to ban the use and sale of e-cigarettes in the city. E-cigarettes will be prohibited in the same places where smoking is not allowed. The ordinance was passed by an overwhelming majority. San Luis is the first in the county to vote a ban in place.

CHP Identifies Man Who Drove Off of Cliff

The CHP has identified the man who went off a cliff near Ragged Point earlier this week. He is 65-year-old Yui Wah Leung of Concord. He was driving a rental car when for some unknown reason he went off the road and rolled down a steep embankment.

SLO Sheriff’s Department Unveils New Police Boat

The SLO County Sheriff’s Department unveiled a new law enforcement tool yesterday. It’s in the form of a sea going boat to patrol the waters off our coastline. It will be used to hunt down panga boats. The 27-foot Defender class boat worth about $350 000 was paid for with funds from Homeland Security.

Santa Barbara Veterinarian Killed in Paragliding Accident

A Santa Barbara veterinarian has been killed in a paragliding accident Sunday. Dr. Ron Faero was flying tandem with his daughter near La Cumbre Peak. According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s office, the 60-year-old Faero fall about a thousand feet ending up in a canyon. His 16-year-old daughter suffered minor injuries.

Two Arrested on Suspicion of Robbery

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of robbery in Santa Maria. Twenty-year-old Erin Lucas and 22-year-old Tevin Morris were booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for attempting to rob a man of his personal belongings at a motel on South Nicholson Avenue.  Lucas and Morris now face charges of robbery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intimidating a victim.
