Solemn Memorial For Cal Poly Student Killed by Train

About 100 students and community members gathered Friday to remember the Cal Poly student struck and killed by an Amtrack train last Tuesday. 22-year-old Thomas Stone walked past the railroad crossing guard and into the path of the oncoming train. House Fire Leaves One Person Injured

A house fire in Morro Bay Saturday afternoon caused about $150,000 in damages. An 87-year-old woman was injured.  She received advanced life support and was transported to a local hospital.  The cause of the fire is under investigation. It broke out around 3:40 Saturday afternoon at a home on the 700 block of Center Court in Morro Heights.

Bill Introduced in Sacramento Would Require Gun Sales to be Videotaped

A bill introduced in Sacramento would require all California gun sales to be videotaped.   A similar ordinance adopted in San Francisco back in November prompted that city’s last gun store to close. Ribbon Cutting at Atascadero Zoo for Rebuilt Aviary

A ribbon-cutting at the Atascadero Zoo Saturday for the newly rebuilt aviary. Zoo director Alan Baker tells KVEC a tree fell on the aviary, forcing them to renovate walk through exhibit. Man Survives Car Accident at Gaviota Pass

Traffic back up last night on northbound 101 at the Gaviota pass.  A car plunged over the side of highway about a quarter mile north of the tunnel.  The driver lost control of his ford mustang just after eight Wednesday night.
