Victim in Motorcycle Crash Identified


The man who was killed in a motorcycle crash on the 101 in San Luis Obispo on Sunday has been identified as 35-year-old Victor Hugo Padilla-Diaz. Alcohol May Have Been Factor in Death of Man at Big Sur

Street Was Closed in Santa Maria Due to Alleged Hostage Situation


Western Street in Santa Maria was closed off yesterday afternoon because of a possible domestic-violence situation. Apparently a woman was being held at knifepoint. Police got the woman out safely, but had to use a canine unit to apprehend the suspect who was a 19 year old man. He suffered dog bite wounds, and the woman had some minor injuries.

Nipomo Man Faces 126 Charges In Alleged Sexual Abuse Of Girl


Robert Bergner of Nipomo has been charged with 126 felony counts relating to unlawful sexual abuse of a minor. He is currently in the San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $1 million, pending his further arraignment on the charges in Superior Court on July 28, 2015.

A device used to kill ground squirrels started a vegetation fire yesterday at Laureate Lane and O’Connor Way in San Luis Obispo, according to fire officials. Motorcyclist Dead After Crashing Into Center Divider


There was a fatal motorcycle accident in San Luis just after six on the 101 northbound just north of Higuera. The CHP says a male motorcycle driver crashed into the center divider. He died at the scene. The CHP is still investigating.
