Mobile Home Fire in Templeton Yesterday


There was a mobile home fire in Templeton yesterday afternoon.  The house just sold and was going into escrow, which did not please either buyer or seller. The home on Bennet Way was unfurnished at the time. And nobody was living in it. Fire officials are still investigating the cause.

Southbound Off-Ramp at LOVR Will be Temporarily Relocated

A Santa Maria man who was shot to death Friday night has been identified as 39-year-old Juan Francisco Valdez-Cortez. Cortez was shot about ten thirty near Cypress and Miller.  Police say they have nobody in custody and are now asking anyone who may have information that can help track down the shooter or shooters to give the police department a call.
