Fire Crews Contained Small Fire in Cambria Yesterday


Fire crews have contained a small spot fire that broke out in Cambria yesterday afternoon. CAL FIRE said the fire at 3080 Santa Rosa Creek Road near Main St. was contained around 6 p.m. Air tankers were on scene and other resources were called in to help fight the fire. Officials are trying to determine the cause and the size of the blaze.

Police Have Yet to Release Identify of Victim in Fatal Accident


Police have yet to release the identity of a 77-year-old Templeton man who died in a three car accident on Highway 41 on Saturday. The crash injured an additional three people. Santa Maria police are investigating a woman’s death. A 67-year-old woman has died from injuries caused by a violent sexual assault. Officers arrested 29 year old Victor Aureliano Martinez of Santa Maria on July 24, after the woman reported the assault to police. She was assaulted at her home on North Dejoy about 10 pm. Human Trafficking Charges Being Brought Against Four


District Attorney Dan Dow has announced the filing of human trafficking related charges against three adults and one juvenile. The four have been charged with California’s relatively new human trafficking statute.
