CHP Not Releasing Identity of Victim in Fatal Traffic Collision


The California Highway Patrol has yet to identify the 18-year-old man who died in a collision Wednesday near Los Osos. It happened shortly after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday on South Bay Boulevard, south of Turi Road, in San Luis Obispo County. CHP officers say 22-year-old Alexander Gonzales of Paso Robles was speeding northbound on South Bay Boulevard. He hit the victim head on. The victim died at the scene. Gonzales was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries, and he was later arrested. He could be charged with DUI and manslaughter.
