Divers Still On The Lookout For Downed Airplane Near Oceano

Maybe later this week, says the SLO County Sheriff’s Office. That’s when it will be decided whether divers will go back into the waters of Oceano where a small airplane with two people aboard went down last week. No bodies have been recovered, nor has the Morrisey 2150 that crashed into the ocean Tuesday afternoon south of the Pismo Beach Pier. The dive team has been searching for the past six days using sonar and an underwater camera. On Sunday, they found a piece of fiberglass that matches the plane. Officials have identified one person as 63-year-old David Casey, a highly ranked American Airlines commercial pilot. The other person believed to be on board has not been identified.
