Downtown Association Pushes For Greater Police Presence

SLO-PoliceYou may see an increased police presence in downtown soon.  The San Luis Obispo Downtown Association is lobbying the city council to hire two more officers to patrol downtown each day.

The association is circulating an online petition regarding the issues of the growing number of transients harassing shoppers.

The petition will be forwarded to the city council before the hearing next Tuesday.

The Downtown Association has hired In House Security to provide private security guards from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
