Firefighters Save Morro Bay Home After Garage Catches Fire

Morro-Bay-FirefightersThe Morro Bay Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 2980 Elm St, Morro Bay.  The fire was fully extinguished after 22 minutes of firefighting, and Fire crews remained on scene for hours to complete a thorough salvage and overhaul operation. 

The fire was contained to a detached garage, while there was heat damage to the adjacent residence and a trailer.  Total loss was estimated at approximately $50,000, while the total save of nearby structures was estimated at approximately $500,000.

No injuries were reported during the incident.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time, although arson is not suspected.
