Former Cal Poly Coach Found Guilty Of Assault

Randy-HansonA former Cal Poly coach was found guilty yesterday on charges of assault and battery.

Randy Hanson, former defensive backs coach, was arrested in August 2012.  He was accused of hitting another person over the head with a beer bottle at Harry’s Night Club in Pismo Beach.

Last September, Hanson resigned from his job and a few weeks later entered a not guilty plea.

The jury found Hanson not guilty of an additional charge of assault with a deadly weapon.

His sentencing is set for June 10th and he faces four years in prison.
