Helicopter Training Drill Today

blackhawkIf you live or work near Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, you may see a Black Hawk helicopter land there this afternoon, but it's just a training drill. The Army National Guard is conducting a mock incident at Camp Roberts, and military personnel are practicing transporting someone to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center on the Black Hawk. The Black Hawk will land between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Sierra Vista's helistop, which is on top of the hospital's parking structure. The training drill is designed to improve communication between the military and people working at the trauma center, as well as to help military personnel practice working with patients with serious blast injuries and review helicopter operations.
