Laguna Village Shopping Center To Get Two New Stores In Place Of Spencer’s Fresh Markets

Laguna Village Shopping Center management has announced that the Spencer’s Fresh Markets location in the center will be closing in 2014 and will be replaced by two new stores. Laguna Village is located at Madonna and Los Osos Valley Roads in San Luis Obispo.

John Spencer, owner of Spencer’s Fresh Markets, confirmed that the San Luis Obispo location will close and the lease will terminate January 31, 2014. All employees of that store will be offered positions in one of its other existing locations. The locally owned grocery company will continue to operate its Santa Maria and Morro Bay locations. Spencer said “In the meantime, it is important to let everyone know that we are fully stocked and all of our employees look forward to continuing to serve our customers through this Christmas and New Year holiday season. This store will remain open through early January.”

Spencer has considered opening other locations in both San Luis Obispo county and northern Santa Barbara county but has no expansion announcement to make at this time. Randy Poltl, the property manager of Laguna Village Shopping Center, announced that “Grocery Outlet – Bargain Market” will become the new grocery anchor of Laguna Village Shopping Center.
