Local Organization Flies WW2 Veterans To Visit War Memorial

World-War-2-Memorial-ww2A group of local World War II Veterans visited Washington D.C. to visit the war memorial dedicated to them on Friday.

13 veterans were able to fly for free thanks to the local organization Honor Flight.  They coordinate free flights and trips for veterans to visit war memorials in the nation’s capital.

The veterans visited the World War II Memorial and got a behind the scenes tour of the capital building on Saturday.

Also on their itinerary was the Vietnam wall, Lincoln Memorial, and the Korean War Memorial.

Yesterday they visited the Marine Corp Memorial, and watched the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The group got back to the Central Coast last night.
