Man Falls To His Death In Apparent Suicide Jump From Parking Structure

Ambulance-DrivingOn Thursday, July 18, 2013, at approximately 4:30 the San Luis Obispo Police Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting that someone had just jumped from the top of the parking structure located at 919 Palm St.

Units were on scene almost immediately and began assisting with CPR, which was already in progress.  San Luis Obispo City Fire and San Luis Ambulance personnel were also dispatched and took over the rescue effort.

The victim, a Caucasian male in his 20’s, was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead due to multiple injuries.  His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation at the scene revealed that witnesses saw that the victim was alone and appeared to have purposely jumped from the structure.  There is no evidence of a crime or any type of foul play.

The investigation will be turned over to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office Coroner Bureau.
