Man Found Outside Bank With Loaded Weapons Pleads No Contest To Charges

Turner-NewmanThe San Luis Obispo man arrested after police found him in a car with loaded weapons outside a bank pleaded no-contest yesterday to three felony weapon-related charges.

20-year-old Turner Newman was found outside a Heritage Oaks branch on Froom Ranch Way with a loaded shotgun, handgun, ammunition, handcuffs, leg restraints, duct tape, zip ties and a machete in March.

Authorities say Newman’s home computer search history included ways to kill, maim, drug and/or render people unconscious.

A no-contest plea results in conviction without admission of guilt. He may serve up to five years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced May 15th.
