Marijuana Lab Causes Fire Sunday Afternoon

An illegal marijuana lab caused a fire Sunday afternoon at 2:15 in San Luis Obispo. After San Luis Obispo police and fire personnel put out the fire on Stoneridge Drive, they found evidence suggesting an illegal drug lab in the house.

Detectives obtained a search warrant and found “highly flammable” butane gas to convert low-concentrated marijuana into “honey oil,” also known as “hash oil,” which they believe caused the fire. Twenty-six-year-old Arroyo Grande resident Camden Knoll was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing a controlled substance, and charges are pending against 31-year-old San Luis Obispo resident Aaron McBurney, who was injured in the fire and taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment.
