Mental Health Awareness Week At Cuesta College

CuestaCollegeThis week, Cuesta College is hosting a Mental Health Awareness Week to decrease the amount of suicides among college-aged students.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, suicide is the second most common cause of death among this age group.

Volunteers put out 11-hundred black flags yesterday to represent the average number of suicides among college-aged students per year.

A student mental health grant is funding the week.  The “week” continues until Thursday with a resource fair, film showing, and health workshop.
