Montecito Firefighters To Attend Granite Mountain Hot Shot Memorial

Hot-ShotsFour off duty Firefighters and one retiree of the Montecito Fire Protection District will be joining hundreds of other agencies and firefighters attending the Granite Mountain Hot Shot Memorial Service in Prescott Arizona. 

The Granite Mountain Hotshot Crew lost their lives Sunday, June 30th, while battling the 2,000-acre Yarnell Hill fire that was started by lightning on June 28th.

26-year-old Sean Misner, one of the Granite Mountain crewmembers who lost their lives, was the nephew of Montecito Fire Division Chief Terry McElwee.  A memorial service for Sean is scheduled to be held at Santa Ynez High School on July 15th at 7:00 pm.
