Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Colliding With Car In Santa Maria

Motorcycle-2A car crash has left one man with major injuries.  A 59-year-old Paso Robles man crashed his motorcycle into a car in Santa Maria yesterday.

It happened at about 11 a.m. when he was leaving a gas station.  The CHP says his motorcycle hit the passenger side of a car on Betteravia Road.

The driver of the car, a 23-year-old Santa Maria woman, did attempt to avoid the motorcycle.

The driver and her two passengers, a 45-year-old Santa Maria woman and 21-year-old Santa Maria man, were not injured in the accident.

The Paso Robles man was treated at the scene and taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by a CalStar helicopter.

Traffic was delayed for about 10 minutes.
