Officials Searching For Man Who Led Sheriff’s Deputies On High Speed Chase

policeThe Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who they say led them on a high-speed chase.

It happened yesterday at about 5:30 PM through Lompoc.

Officials say a Sheriff's Deputy saw a car that matched the description of a stolen vehicle from Santa Maria.

The deputy attempted to pull the car over, but the driver sped off. The deputy stopped chasing the car once it entered a residential area in Mission Hills.

Officials say the driver abandoned the car at Villa Orilla.

The Lompoc Police Department, California Highway Patrol, a K9 unit and Santa Barbara County helicopter helped Deputies search for the driver.

They say several residents reported seeing the man in the area of Calle Lindero, but authorities have not been able to find him.

The driver is a white male, approximately five feet eight inches tall, with short blonde hair or a shaved head. He was last seen wearing a black hat, gray shirt, and black pants.
