Police Arrest Second Fugitive Wanted In Carpinteria Car Chase

Taryn-YankovitchThe second suspect wanted in connection with a stolen car and pursuit in Carpinteria earlier this week is in custody.  At around 2:45 p.m. yesterday afternoon at the corner of Telegraph Road and Victoria Avenue, 28-year-old Taryn Yankovitch was arrested by Ventura Police Officers following a traffic stop.  She was recognized as a passenger in the car and taken into custody.  She was booked into the Ventura County Jail on outstanding warrants.  She is being held without bail.

The driver of a stolen car who fled from Sheriff’s Deputies in Carpinteria prompting a search of the area is in custody.  22-year-old Joseph Rowland was arrested in Ventura and transported to the Santa Barbara County Jail.   Rowland was apprehended following a domestic violence dispute which he had nothing to do with…he just happened to be at the residence.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Detectives arrived in Ventura, took Rowland into custody and transported him to the Santa Barbara County Jail.  He is charged with vehicle theft, felony evading, resisting arrest, driving while suspended and possession of stolen property.  His bail is set at $25,000.00.  The two were involved in a vehicle pursuit caper in Carpenteria earlier this week which involved a stolen car.
