Police Chief Announced Retirement

After a distinguished, 30-year law enforcement career, Police Chief Jeffrey V. Norton, who has led the Pismo Beach Police Department since 2009, has announced plans to retire, effective July 29th, 2014.

As Chief, Jeff Norton directed a staff of 34, including 23 sworn officers, managed a budget of more than $5 million, and retained the department’s nationally accredited status for 9 years.

When reflecting on his career Chief Norton said, “I will be forever thankful for the support the community has shown me and the police department.  At the end of the day, a police department can only be as effective as the strong community support it receives.  While I am proud of our many accomplishments as a department, I am most proud of the outstanding reputation this agency has in the community.”
