The results from an investigation involving a possible animal neglect incident were released last Friday. Last February, police began investigating the deaths of 25 sheep at Heritage Ranch. The investigation concluded that there is no evidence that negligence occurred. They came to this conclusion based on the fact that the sheep owner had a good reputation and there was no evidence of any mistreatment towards the sheep. Independent experts determined that the sheep likely died from excessive rain and high winds. The results from the investigation were reviewed by the District Attorney’s office, which came to the same conclusion.
