revsloHi all!

Stefanie here! Wow week 2 flew by! I’m already starting to feel stronger and I’m ACTUALLY looking forward to working out, who would have thought?

I’ve noticed something special about Rev since I have joined…people remember me, they WANT to get to know you and the encouragement is real. I really feel like I’m making friends which pushes me to want to go back every day.
I’ve decided that every week I’m going to post about a class. I’ve noticed, that some classes are intimidating to think about going to alone…well you aren’t alone anymore folks!
This week’s focus will be on Bootcamp:
Now this blog is ALL about honesty and I’ll be real with you….the thought of going to a bootcamp class scared the ba-jesus out of me! However, I swallowed that fear, sucked it up and showed up to the class. The fear melted away. The class had about seven other people in it, Darik had us a pair up with a workout partner and the class begun. When you think of bootcamp you picture this drill instructor standing over you, yelling at you to work harder! THIS. IS. NOT. THE. CASE.
The class is made up of different workout stations and you work out at each station for a set amount of time, then you rotate. The best part is that all classes are for EVERY fitness level. So if you are like me, and wanting to lose weight or if you are a seasoned gym go-er and want to maintain or tone it works. My partner was VERY in shape and so sweet. She showed me different modifications for my fitness level and helped me the whole time.
By the end of the class I was dripping in sweat and felt like I had really accomplished something great, not only did I get it done but I punched that fear of that class in the face!
I really encourage you to check the class out.
Bootcamp is offered Monday’s and Wednesday’s at 6:15am and 12:15pm as well as Friday’s at 6:15am and 11:15am and is 45 minutes long. Worried about sweating on your lunch break? Rev has really clean showers to freshen up in!
As far as my progress this week, things are going so great! I will be updating measurements once a month! However my clothes are changing so much! After only two weeks working out my favorite work pants….well need to be retired!

Please remember to go and “like” RevSLO’s FB page at and also see the class schedules at

My name is Stefanie, I’m 30 years old and 243 pounds. After going to the doctor for my annual checkup, and being told that my blood pressure was through the roof and I was heading down a road of needing to take medication to get it under control, I decided once and for all it was time for a change.

Being an athlete most of my life being this heavy was really taking a toll on me mentally and physically. I had literally tried every “diet” out there. I have taken every shake, pill, drink, microwavable meal….I’ve done it all. It was time to bring it back to basics…clean eating and working out.
On February 3rd I met Darik who is a personal trainer and owns RevSLO. That day I  joined and made the decision to never look back again. I had been eating clean for three weeks and it was time to learn how to work hard on my body all over again. I’ll admit that driving to RevSLO that Monday morning, I was nervous and pretty scared. All of that was washed away when I walked in the door, and I was greeted with a smile from everyone in the boot camp class.
Working out for the first time in a long time really tested me, and if it wasn’t for the people in class as well as Darik I don’t think that I would have made it. The whole time, people were cheering me on and telling me I was doing a great job. I had been a member of a lot of “gyms” but this didn’t feel like just a gym, I felt like I was part of a family. These people really wanted me to succeed and I wasn’t going to let them down. I’ll be the first to admit that bootcamp wasn’t easy for me, but it isn’t supposed to be easy. With the help of being teamed up with a partner in bootcamp I was taught the moves and modifications and cheered on the whole time. The hour flew by and I finished the class. I felt like I could do anything!
That evening I did spin class, and fell in love. Madly in love. I had always loved being on a bike but this was so different. Imagine you are in a dark room, lit by black light with fast music going and an instructor keeping you pumped up the whole time! It was a blast, and I was hooked. People have always told me that working out makes you feel so happy and to be honest I thought it was all hype….negative. After spin, I was on cloud nine! I’ve talked to some people and they are afraid to try spin, I really encourage you to PLEASE try it. I will go with you, that’s a promise! You don’t have to keep up with the fastest person in class, you go at your own pace. GO TRY IT! Tell them I sent you!
The rest of the week flew by. I showed up every day and worked hard. I won’t bore you with every workout I did, but I will tell you that I have never felt better.
RevSLO isn’t a gym. It’s a family.
From day one you feel like a part of something, everyone knows your name and it’s personal.
For the first time in my life, I look forward to going to work out and see these people that want nothing more than for me to be successful.
There are so many classes to choose from for every fitness level. Please go to or find them on Facebook at and like their page.
This blog is going to be a real look at my weight loss journey, I welcome any questions about my journey and RevSLO.
Please check back as I will be updating a lot!
