The Allen family had just picked up their daughter from college in Wyoming and set out to go camping in Kane Creek.
The San Juan County Sheriff's Office says the family went for a hike. Allen sat down on a rock about 15-feet in diameter, which somehow broke away and began sliding.
Officials say she suffered severe internal and external injuries, and died about a half-hour after the fall.
The San Juan County Sheriff's Office says the investigation into Allen's fall is complete and it’s been deemed an accident.
A memorial fund is being set up in her name. The money is expected to go to the local Edna 4H program, or to her college, Wyoming Catholic College. If you would like to donate, you can visit any Rabobank Branch.
