Structure Fire on Ramona Street


San Luis Obispo City Fire Department personnel responded to a reported structure fire in a house located at 240 Ramona St. in the City of San Luis Obispo at 7:08pm.  The first SLO City Fire Department unit arrived within 4 minutes of being dispatched and found a rapidly spreading fire involving the rear deck and the rear of the house, the heavy fire conditions also spread into the attic of the approximately 1400 square foot house. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries to fire fighters or civilians was reported.

The fire was quickly attacked with three hose lines, with ventilation performed by the tiller truck crews to remove heat and gases to allow firefighters to extinguish the fire. Control was achieved within 25 minutes of the initial 9-1-1 call. The cause has yet to be determined.
