Student Arrested for Threats on Twitter

Threats over social media prompted a lockdown at Pioneer Valley High School at 11:30 yesterday morning, according to the Santa Maria Police Department. The student — a 17-year-old whose name was not released — was arrested. Pioneer Valley students defended of the student suspected of making the threat. By noon, a hashtag calling for the release of the student was trending on Twitter.
