Woman Leads Police On High-Speed Chase From Monterey County To Moro Bay

policeA woman from Monterey County was arrested yesterday afternoon after leading police on a high-speed chase, which started in Monterey County and ended in Morro Bay.

According to the CHP, a woman wouldn't pay for the gas she had just put in her car.

The chase started through Monterey and then south on Highway 1 through Carmel and Big Sur, reaching speeds up to 100 miles per hour.  The CHP put spike strips on the road, and eventually her car came to a stop in a ditch in Morro Bay near Yerba Buena Street around 6p.m.

When the woman’s Jeep came to a stop, she jumped out and took off running barefoot.  A canine unit eventually caught up with her, and she was taken into custody with no major injuries.
